Vertical racking provides safe, organised, space saving storage for long products that are best stored upright. Items such as steel bar and tube, timber lengths, plastic pipe, sheet materials, mouldings and trims can be awkward and even dangerous to store loose, and storing them vertically in a purpose built rack keeps them tidy, protected and easy to select while taking up a remarkably small footprint.

Store long products safely

A vertical rack is built from a strong frame divided into a series of upright compartments or bays by sturdy dividers. Each compartment holds a quantity of long material standing on end, securely contained so that it cannot fall, lean dangerously or become tangled with neighbouring stock. Because the products are held upright, an individual length can be drawn out from the front of its compartment without having to move anything else, which makes picking quick, easy and far safer than pulling items from a horizontal stack or a pile on the floor.

Vertical racking is especially popular in builders merchants, steel stockholders, engineering workshops, sign makers, joinery shops and plastics suppliers, anywhere that a range of long products needs to be kept accessible and clearly separated. The compartment sizes can be tailored to suit the diameter, profile and weight of your materials, and the racking can be single sided against a wall or arranged in runs to suit the layout of your store or yard.
