Cantilever Racking

Cantilever Racking

Cantilever racking is the storage system of choice whenever you need to store long, bulky or awkwardly shaped products that simply will not sit neatly on conventional pallet racking. Built around a series of upright columns fitted with horizontal arms, cantilever racking offers a completely clear, unobstructed front face, which means items such as timber, steel bar, tube, plastic pipe, sheet materials, guttering and furniture can be loaded and unloaded quickly from either end with no vertical obstructions to get in the way.

Clear, unobstructed storage for long and awkward loads, designed and installed to full SEMA standards.

How cantilever racking works

The system is engineered from a strong steel column, a stabilising base and a set of load-bearing arms that can be adjusted up and down the upright in fixed increments. Because there are no front uprights, a fork lift or side loader can place long loads straight onto the arms in one smooth movement. Arms can be single sided where the racking is positioned against a wall, or double sided to make the very best use of the floor space in the centre of a warehouse or yard, giving you two faces of storage from a single run.

Cantilever racking can be supplied in light, medium and heavy duty ratings to suit everything from hand-loaded shelving for a trade counter through to heavy structural systems carrying many tonnes per arm. It is equally at home indoors or, when galvanised, outdoors in a builders merchant or timber yard where it can be combined with a roof structure to create a fully covered storage canopy.

Designed around your products

Every cantilever installation we supply is designed specifically around the goods you need to store, the weight of those goods, the handling equipment you use and the height and footprint of your building. We will calculate the correct arm length, arm spacing and column centres so that your loads are fully supported and safe, and we can incorporate timber decking, mesh decking or shelf panels where smaller items also need to be held on the same run.

As long established members of SEMA, the Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association, every system is specified and installed to recognised industry standards. Our installation teams are SEMA trained and hold CSCS cards, and we are members of the CHAS and Constructionline schemes, so you can have complete confidence in both the quality of the equipment and the safety of the installation.

Indoor and outdoor applications

Because cantilever racking is so adaptable, it is found everywhere from compact engineering stores through to large open timber and steel yards. Galvanised systems shrug off the British weather and can be fitted with a simple roof to keep stock dry, while powder coated indoor versions provide neat, accessible storage for furniture, panel products and fabricated components. Whatever the setting, we will assess your handling equipment, the weight and length of your loads and the way your team works, then specify the arm capacity, upright height and base depth needed to keep everything stable and safe.

We operate throughout the United Kingdom, with our main customer base across Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire, and we treat every job with the same care and attention.
