What SEMA Means?

Design and Manufacture
Ensures robust and safe storage systems, minimising equipment failure.
01
Qualified Installation
Promotes correct and hazard-free racking installation by trained personnel.
02
Regular Inspections
Detects and prevents issues early, ensuring safety and extending equipment lifespan.
03
Racking Inspections
A core part of our service is regular racking inspections, which are essential to ensure safety, maintain structural integrity, and comply with legal obligations.
Immediate reporting of damage by staff, weekly visual inspections by a trained Person Responsible for Racking Safety (PRRS), and annual expert inspections by qualified professionals are recommended.
Weekly inspections should be conducted by a trained PRRS, while annual inspections should be performed by a SEMA Approved Racking Inspector
SEMA uses a traffic light system to categorise racking damage: Green (safe to use), Amber (requires action as soon as possible), and Red (requires immediate offloading and repair).
Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, employers must ensure the safety of employees and visitors. Racking must be inspected and maintained to comply with the Workplace Health, Safety and Welfare Regulations 1992.
Damaged racking can often be repaired quickly and efficiently by companies like Peter Samms Equipment Ltd, who understand racking problems and can perform repairs to SEMA standards.
